Dr Giliola Spattini graduated with honours in Veterinary Medicine in 1998 from Parma University. She worked for two years in a referring private practice in Italy. In 2001 she started an alternate residency program in Diagnostic Imaging, at the Royal Veterinary College of London, under the supervision of Christopher R. Lamb. She integrated her residency with externships at Tufts, Penn, Utrecht, Liege, Uppsala, and Bern Universities. In 2008 she obtained the Diploma of the European College of Veterinary Diagnostic Imaging (ECVDI). In 2009 she discussed her PhD thesis at the Department of Veterinary Diagnostic Imaging at Parma University. Since 2008 she has been working with sport medicine experts on ultrasonography of the limbs in sports dogs. She has been the secretary of the European Association of Diagnostic Imaging and the president of the Italian Society of Veterinary Diagnostic Imaging (SVIDI). She has published in national and international journals. She has contributed to three books on Diagnostic imaging, one of which, has been translated into English. She is a frequent contributor to continuous post-graduate education (CPD) in Italy and around the world. She works in Clinica Veterinaria Castellarano, a private practice in Italy as a specialist in Diagnostic Imaging and as a specialist consultant for Antech and Mylav. She lives in the Apennine Mountains and loves nature and art.
