Cameron Black
Lead Veterinary Surgeon
Graduated 2008 from University of Glasgow and, following 4 years in general practice he pursued an interest in stem cell research and innovation at the University of Edinburgh before joining the Bone and Joint Research group in Southampton as a PhD student and later as Veterinary Fellow, working within the field of bone tissue engineering, translating bench-top science into clinical application. Cameron then joined Fitzpatrick Referrals Orthopeadic and Neurology, helping establish and operate the osteoarthritis and regenerative medicine service, delivering a OneHealth-centric treatment model within the discipline of regenerative sciences. Currently Cameron is enjoying helping to share his experiences in the field of regenerative medicine, valuing the importance of open discussion at all levels of practice. Ongoing areas of research interest focus on enhancing the therapeutic effect of MSC populations; prospective stem cell isolation, secretome enhancing culture techniques and moving toward hybrid material-cell constructs in the clinical environment.
