Amie is a doctor of physical therapy, a certified canine rehabilitation therapist and practitioner, and a nationally certified Pilates trainer. She owns EmpowerPhysio, providing comprehensive, forward-thinking, focused, and personalised solutions to mobility challenges for people, pets, pet parents, and animal physical therapy and rehabilitation professionals worldwide. Having worked with people and pets for over twenty years, she has merged the art and science of conventional physical therapy with innovative and intuitive approaches, giving people and pets more comfort, control, and confidence in movement. Amie has provided workshops and lectures in the United States, Japan, Italy, Switzerland, Sweden, The Netherlands, Belgium, Norway, and the United Kingdom, focusing on the application of practical manual and therapeutic exercise techniques with a neuro-rehabilitation, neuro-facilitation, and neuro-plasticity approach. Amie is a member of the International Association of Veterinary Rehabilitation and Physical Therapy and the former president of the Animal Rehabilitation Special Interest Group of the American Physical Therapy Association.
